This denim travels the world in its quest to respect the fundamental and historic craft of selvedge denim and we think it's phenomenally successful in that goal. This is the American Cotton Selvedge.
Searching for the ultimate in authentic selvedge denim is a hunt that's never ending and always fun for us. Today we have a totally new entrant that may be the perfect tribute to pure, vintage selvedge denim. This is a fabric that takes a long journey in its transformation from cotton to fabric and finally into the classically style denim we make. The journey begins all the way back with the fundamental ingredient - the cotton. This cotton is grown in the USA, in Tennessee. It's tough to find a better starting point. The cotton is taken by selvedge denim masters in Japan and woven into the quintessential, iconic, rugged selvedge. Deep indigo warp with white weft. Slub yarns for an absolutely grainy, high texture surface built for fades. Big starch and ideal 14 ounce weight. If you close you eyes and think what original selvedge denim would look like, this is what you'd picture. This is a true investment pair with a unique story to match.
