Cut and sewn in California
It doesn’t get more all-American than this ultra-rare, deadstock denim we found for you. Special fabric made by the last great American mill, Cone Mills, in their famed White Oak Plant in North Carolina. Not only that, it uses one of the most old school weaves, the broken twill, created by another American icon, Wrangler. A truly special denim at an equally special value for a garment few will ever experience. The Cone Mills White Oak Broken Twill Denim.
Broken twill weave was used by Wrangler in the 60s in an attempt to combat the leg twist you get in left or right hand twills. Rarely found now, it's a nod to historic techniques. It's deployed in one of the best versions we've found to create a hefty 14oz base. This is serious fabric - starchy, with a tight leather-like feel. A small bit of stretch makes it easier to enjoy. The broken twill means you don't see a well defined twill line on either the front or back surfaces, which gives this fabric a different character. This denim is a true piece of fabric history.
