#622 Cone Mills Experimental Selvedge - Army Super Slub

As Cone Mills began searching for a way to improve quality by using more modern selvedge looms, it started with the long-running classics. Example - our Cone Mills 1968. What we didn't know, until very recently, was that it also began work on a limited set of experimental selvedges. Fresh colors, yarns, weights, and IDs. We got tipped off to these styles, and when the swatches arrived, we were like kids in a candy store. Just so cool.

The Army Super Slub showcases one of the most unusual, beautiful colors brought to life with all the right raw denim details. Color is clearly the star of this selvedge show and what jumps out at you right away - a vintage army green. The beautiful and rare color is transformed by the use of intensely slubby yarns, which lend surface texture and a stunning heather green effect. Even better, pigment dye is used, which means the color will age beautifully with wear and time, almost like indigo dye. The 12.5 ounce weight and lightly starched finish create a sturdy but wearable sweet spot. This is a one of a kind denim and a true showcase of fabric craft. Do not miss it.
